This course deals with the basic legal principles that are applicable to employers, employees, manufacturers, contractors and other persons within the occupational health and safety environments.

This course covers all the legal requirements of the employer as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety act. You will be able to gain a practical approach towards the legal framework and the occupational and safety act liabilities. Once you completed this course will enable you to make informed and qualified decisions when acting or representing your employer by understanding the liabilities associated with your scope of work.

  • The different types of legislation, structures, rules, and legal documents
  • The statuary requirements of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • The key duties of the employer and employee with regards to occupational health and safety as well as legal requirements.
  • Understanding the liability with the law and the criminal and civil implications of the employer and employee structures
  • Identifying areas of risk and non-compliance with regards to legislation
  • Complying with legislation and rules which regulate business in general
